This course offers a multi-disciplinary perspective on issues that affect forest management and coservation in Brazil, including:
• Forest policy within the context of regional and national development policy,
• Forest products and marketing,
• Silvicultural, harvest and management techniques in practice or under investigation,
• Rural and urban communities living within forest landscapes,
• Forests as sources and sinks of carbon dioxide.
