The people of Paragominas and the state of Para have experienced the 'boom' of Brazil's logging economy. They now find themselves perched on the edge of an economic 'bust' as the logging frontier continues to move west. This is noticable in the sawmills, where the supply of tree boles is shrinking in both size and numbers.
