Important things when you land in University of Florida
Get your Gator ID card from Reitz Union (required for practically everything in UF)
Report immediately in International Student Center for:
Your new I - 20 which will be required for the getting Social Security Number
International T- Shirt
Map of the campus (very handy in initial few months)
Remove all your holds like medical, insurance and fees
Register for classes after consulting your advisor
Get keys of your lab from your own advisor or Willie Wood
Look for the buildings where your classes will be held
Email faculties for knowing the name of the books that will be needed for the courses you enrolled for
Order books online or go to Bookstore in Reitz Union
Apply for:
Florida State ID (Bus No: 8) (Take online appointment)
Florida Driving License (Bus No: 8) (Take online appointment)
Bank Account (Wachovia Bank located in basement of Reitz Union Building)
Social Security Number
Join campus clubs/list serves clubs based on your likings
Caution:
Bring Sufficient money with you ($ 3000 approx) as your first pay cheque from UF will arrive only after two months (approx)
