Laboratory and Field Assistance

Laboratory and/or Field Technician

At this time, we have need of students interested in field work. Conditions are challenging, with long hours, sometimes adverse field conditions (high water, insects), and potentially extended duration (several days at a time working in the Everglades). For the right person, this is an extraordinary chance to see parts of Florida that few do, and a chance to build your resume with detail-oriented field research support skills. If you can drive a trailer, like the outdoors, can work in the field for long hours, or simply can't wait to get out on an airboat at 6:00 am, please contact me.

Occasionally there is a need to fill a lab technician slot - I usually try to employ undergraduates (juniors and seniors) to provide some work experiences. Typically, I expect 10-20 hours per week, with a range of tasks including sample preparation, routine instrument work, and general laboratory assistance. Please email me if you are interested in such a position.
