General Herbicide Prescriptions
Most of these recommendations were compiled by Dr. Alan Long, University of Florida School of Forest Resources and Conservation, 1998.
The following are general prescriptions for various vegetation management treatments. These prescriptions are not guaranteed to work everywhere. The treatments are given in quantities per acre where indicated (/A). As always, read herbicide labels thoroughly before use!

Apply as a directed spray. Keep the spray off the pine needles. A backpack sprayer with a wand can be used to spray the vines to about 6 feet, Use an adjustable cone nozzle adjusted to produce nearly a straight stream to target the vines. Sometimes only the lower vine can be sprayed when the vines are climbing in the canopy. Backpack sprayers with a diaphragm pump are best. (from Dr. Patrick Minogue, UF-IFAS SFRC) |
