The Forest Resources and Conservation (FRC) major is designed for students interested in the conservation and management of our forests and natural resources. Students gain knowledge and understanding in areas such as forest ecology, ecosystem management, economics, environmental policy, wildlife management, and forest health. Students spend valuable time in the field gaining hands-on experience with natural resource inventory, hydrology, siliviculture, fire ecology and management, soils and much more. Graduates use this knowledge and understanding
in managing forests to meet the many societal needs which include
water quality protection, forest products, and recreation.
The FRC major provides options that are nationally accredited
by the Society of American Foresters.
