MyUFL
Launched in March 2003, the myUFL portal provides UF faculty, staff and students with direct, easy access to UF’s on–line resources, information, and myUFL systems. The portal is the first of several new services created by UF Bridges–a multi–year project to improve University of Florida business processes. The financial, payroll, human resources, and Enterprise Reporting on–line systems are accessible only through the myUFL portal.

For campus news and announcements, myUFL is the ideal place to come. Users can subscribe to news pagelets for most academic units and existing campus news sources like UF News, University Digest and DDD Memos. In addition, important campus news and announcements are delivered to role–based information sources called Faculty News, Student News, and Staff News. Outside news sources include –– New York Times, Chronicle of Higher Education, BBC–World News, Wired News, and many others.

Employees will also use this portal to record their vacation time or work schedule and check on benefits. To get started use your Gatorlink credentials to log into: https://my.ufl.edu/

E-Mail
Your Gatorlink e-mail will automatically be established once your GL account is set up. We strongly encourage you to ask Winnie Lante to establish a UF Exchange mail account for you. The Exchange account offers several benefits including a larger mailbox size limit, on line folders, on line calendaring and numerous collaboration abilities. Your mail address will not change but you will receive the benefits of operating in a full MS Exchange Mail environment.

UF/ Microsoft Agreement & Software
A campus agreement with Microsoft for office software, core client access licenses, and operating system upgrades has been put in place for all university owned computers and for home use by faculty and staff.

Software included: Access, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel. For the Mac: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Entourage.

Core client access licenses include Windows server, Exchange, SMS and Share Point. A Client access license is required for each computer accessing one of the Windows Server services.
All licensed copies of Windows can be updated to current versions of Windows.

The following software is not included: server software, SQL Server client access licenses, FrontPage, Visio, OneNote and PDA software.

All UF-owned computers are covered regardless of location. A work at home provision allows software to be installed on faculty and staff computers. Work at Home extends to all faculty and staff of SFRC.

More details are available at: http://www.it.ufl.edu/projects/microsoft.html

For purchasing all other software products please check at: www.software.ufl.edu

Purchases of PC’s and Other Computer Related Products
Currently UF has negotiated contracts with numerous hardware suppliers. Dell has been and continues to be our primary source of workstation and servers. You may find a list of other suppliers and links to their pricing sites at: http://www.purchasing.ufl.edu/main_contracts.asp

If you need assistance pricing out a system, Winnie Lante will be happy to assist you.

SFRC Computing Network
SFRC is part of the UFAD network which is managed by Active Directory. With few exceptions all workstation and servers are directly managed by AD which facilitates file sharing and collaboration within the UF community. Each UFAD computer is managed and all users are required to log on using their Gatorlink credentials. In order to keep accurate records on the network workstations, servers and network printers cannot be moved to another room or building without notifying the local administrator: Winnie Lante.
