SFRC Undergraduate and Graduate Coordinator Support Staff:
Administrative Student records, including graduate applications are filed in Cherie’s office. Contact Mae or Cherie for more information. Students can access their files by appointment. Faculty advisors may access files as needed for academic advisement or counseling. The confidentiality of student records is provided by the Buckley Amendment and state statues and student records may not be accessed by other students or unauthorized persons. The collection of SFRC theses, dissertations, and honors projects is housed in Cherie’s office where check out by faculty and students can be arranged through Cherie. School displays, brochures and various printed materials for prospective students are prepared by Mae and made available to SFRC faculty and staff as requested. Mae coordinates undergraduate and graduate catalog updates and the academic portion of the School website. Proposals for new courses, modifications to existing courses, and revisions to curricula are coordinated by George who also manages the Academic Learning Compact program for the School. Dr. Bon Dewitt (305 Reed Hall; bon@ufl.edu; 392-6010) and Annant provide major-specific advising and support to students majoring in Geomatics. The support staff, working through George on matters concerning policy, procedures and exceptions, provide liaison with CALS and the University on all academic matters. Undergraduate Programs Scholarships: The SFRC offers numerous merit-based scholarships. Applications and awards are made in fall and spring term. Application forms and detailed information is available on the SFRC’s website under Undergraduate Programs. Graduate Programs Advisement: Academic handbooks for the MFRC, MS, and PhD degrees are available on the SFRC website. The major professor and the supervisory committee, along with the student are responsible for timely preparation of the Schedule of Courses (Form 2) that guides semester by semester registration. Students can register online through UF’s website or see Cherie for “special course” registration. Fellowship and tuition waivers are processed by Cherie. Mailboxes: Graduate student mailboxes are located in 226 Newins-Ziegler Hall.
