PLT 40th Anniversary!

Congratulations to Pelican Island Elementary: Our newest PLT School! Principal Chris Kohlstedt understands the importance of providing students with hands-on learning experiences that will be meaningful and thought-provoking, supporting PLT integration at his school.
This year, the school will incorporate PLT into their Earth Day celebration. The activities and PLT School program will be coordinated by teacher Sue Flak, who states, “The incorporation of Project Learning Tree at Pelican Island will enhance the integration of environmental education into the curriculum. Educators will continue to gain the skills to implement hand-on activities that provide students with knowledge, awareness, appreciation, skills, and the commitment needed to address environmental issues.” Visit: https://www.indianriverschools.org/pies
