How to Become a Facilitator

Volunteer facilitators are the back bone of PLT! PLT uses a "train the trainer" system. If you'd like to be more involved with PLT in FL, are interested in encouraging educators in your area incorporate environmental lessons in their classrooms and programs, and want to work with a network of enthusiastic volunteers...consider becoming a PLT Facilitator!

As a PLT Facilitator, you will:

  • Learn how to conduct PLT workshops.
  • Florida PLT FacilitatorsGain leadership skills and knowledge of environmental education.
  • Learn about and make contacts in your community and help us share the success of PLT with others!

There are two ways to become a facilitator:

 
  • Facilitator Leadership Training Workshops

  • Florida PLT FacilitatorFacilitator training workshops prepare nominees for leadership positions in PLT. See Workshop Calendar or contact PLT Central to find out about upcoming facilitator workshops in your region.

  • Facilitator Mentoring Program

  • This program provides a system for training new Florida PLT Workshop
    workshop facilitators with the support of seasoned facilitators. Due to the limited number of facilitator training workshops throughout the year, interested PLT Educators do not have to wait until the next scheduled facilitator training workshop in their area.

    Trainees will learn how to be a facilitator in a real workshop setting and will be involved in a workshop from beginning to end, including preparation and follow-up. Their designated mentor will guide the trainee in the process of planning a workshop and integrate the trainee into the workshop at various levels to provide experience.

    Candidates who have successfully demonstrated their ability and commitment to becoming a facilitator will receive designation as a PLT Facilitator.
